Luca Solero
received the M.Eng. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Rome ‘La Sapienza’, Italy, in 1994. Since 1996 he has been with the Department of Engineering, University ROMA TRE where he currently is a Full Professor in charge of teaching courses in the fields of Power Electronics and Industrial Electric Applications. His current research interests include power electronic applications to electric and hybrid vehicles as well to distributed power and renewable energy generating units. He has authored or coauthored more than 140 technical published papers. Since 2016, he serves as Secretary the IEEE IAS Industrial Power Converter Committee IPCC. He serves as an Associate Editor of IEEE Transaction on Industry Applications. Prof. Solero is a member of the IEEE Industrial Electronics, IEEE Industry Applications, and IEEE Power Electronics Societies.
Stefano Bifaretti
received the PhD degree in Electronic Engineering from University of Rome ‘Tor Vergata’, Italy, in 2003. In 2004 he became Assistant Professor and in 2015 Associate Professor of Power Electronics and Electrical Drives with the Department of Industrial Engineering of the University of Rome ‘Tor Vergata’. In 2007 he was with the PEMC research group at the University of Nottingham (UK), collaborating on the UNIFLEX-PM European project. His research interests include design and control of power electronics converters, industrial drives and future electricity networks. He has published over 90 papers in international journals and conferences. He is currently serving as an Associate Editor of IEEE Transaction on Industry Applications.
Vincenzo Bonaiuto
received the Electronic Engineering Degree at the University of Rome ‘La Sapienza’ in July 1992. In 1993, he received the Diploma of specialization in Telecommunication at the ISPT in Rome and, in 1997, the PhD in Telecommunication and Microelectronics. From November 1996 to February 2002, he was Assistant Professor at the University of Rome ‘Tor Vergata’. In March 2002, he joined as Associate Professor for ING-IND/31 (Electrical Engineering). His main research interests are in the area of nonlinear circuits, Artificial Neural Networks and analogue/digital VLSI circuits implementation. He participated in the design and implementation of several VLSI chips as well as electronics boards. Prof. Bonaiuto has been reviewer of numerous articles for international journals and conferences and participated in various PRIN projects. Since 2009, he is involved in the experiment NA62 at CERN and he is working on the project of the electronics section of Trigger and Data Acquisition System.
Petar J. Grbovic
received the Dipl. Eng. and M.Sc. degrees in Electrical Engineering from the University of Belgrade, Serbia, in 1999 and 2005, and the Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from l’Ecole Centrale de Lille, France in 2010.
Since March 2003 until today he was working with various international companies. Currently he is a Full Professor and the head of Innsbruck Power Electronics Lab. (i-PEL), the University of Innsbruck, Austria. He published over 60 IEEE conference/journal papers, 18 IEEE tutorials and a book. He holds 17 US patents and 7 US and European Applications. The focus of his research is on cutting-edge technology of power semiconductors and their applications, energy storage devices, active gate drivers for high power IGBTs and SiC MOSFETs, power converters topologies and control of power converters and power semiconductors. Prof. Grbović is IEEE PELS/IAS/IES Senior member and PELS Distinguished Lecture.
Alessandro Lidozzi
received the M.Eng. degree in Electronic Engineering and the Ph.D. degree in Mechanical and Industrial Engineering from the University of ROMA TRE, Rome, Italy, in 2003 and 2007, respectively.
Since 2010, he has been a Researcher with the Department of Engineering, University ROMA TRE. His research interests are mainly focused on high performance control algorithms for multi converter-based applications, dcñdc power converter and permanent magnet motor drives.
Dr. Lidozzi was a recipient of a Student Award and a Travel Grant at the International Symposium on Industrial Electronics in 2004. During 2005-2006, he was a Visiting Scholar at the Center for Power Electronics Systems, Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, Blacksburg, VA, USA.
Pericle Zanchetta
received his MEng degree in Electronic Engineering and his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the Technical University of Bari (Italy) in 1993 and 1997 respectively. In 1998 he became Assistant Professor of Power Electronics at the same University. In 2001 he became lecturer in control of power electronics systems in the PEMC research group at the University of Nottingham, UK, where he is now Professor in Control of Power Electronics systems. He has published over 260 peer reviewed papers and he is Chair of the IAS Industrial Power Converter Committee IPCC. His research interests include control of power converters and drives, Matrix and multilevel converters.
